荃湾港区是惠州港的起步港区和主导港区，地理坐标为114。32`Ｅ，22。42`N，具有“回淤少、水域宽、风浪少、航道短、深水岸线长”等优点。1993年经国务院批准正式对外籍船舶开放，为国家一类口岸。
该港区位于大亚湾经济技术开发区内，毗邻深圳和香港，前依南海大亚湾，周边路网密集便利，通过惠澳疏港大道与深汕高速、广汕高速、惠盐高速、广惠高速、惠河高速国道205线、324线，省道356线、357线、254线连接；通过惠澳疏港铁路与京九铁路、广梅汕铁路、京广铁路连接，是衔接粤东、内地，连接香港及世界的交通枢纽之一。
Quanwan Harbor Zone is the initial and main harbor of Huizhou Port, at geographical coordinate 114。32`Ｅ, 22。42`N, enjoys the characteristics of “less sediment, wide waters, calm tide, short entrance channel and long deep-water coastline.” In 1993 it is approved by state Council to formally open to foreign ships as a national first-grade port.    Being situated in the Daya Bay Economic and technology Development Zone, The harbor zone is adjacent to Shenzhen and HK, faces the Daya Bay of South China Sea. It is surrounded by a dense transportation networks, can be connected with highway networks radiating in all direction such as Shenzhou-Shantou Highway, Guangzhou-Shantou Highway, Huizhou-Yantian Highway, National Highway 205, 324, Province Highway 356, 357, 254 through the Huizhou-Aotou Highway, with the railway networks such as the Beijing-Jiujiang-Kowloon Railway, Guangzhou-Meizhou-Shantou Railway and Beijing-Guangzhou Railway through the Huizhou-Aotou local Railway, as is one of the pivots of communications to east areas of Guangdong Province, HK and the world.
